Multi-Sport Activity:

Several of our members compete in different sports including cycling, hockey, soccer, triathlons etc. We have been asked whether mention of these sports can be included as a separate web page. Regrettably there is neither time nor space to do so although occasional reference may be made to some special achievement, usually as a passing comment. The purpose of the website remains primarily to be a lasting record the athletic achievements of the club and its members.

ESSA Track and Field Championships: Birmingham: July 2005

Mike Ehlen, Becky Keegan and Dave Forrester have been selected to compete in the 2005 ESAA Track and Field Championships at Birmingham next month. Mike will take part in the junior high jump, Becky the junior javelin on behalf of Merseyside while Dave competes in the intermediate 1500 in the colours of  Greater Manchester. Congratulations to all three and best of luck on the day.

Cup Competitions:

The BAL Competition takes place on Saturday 18 July at Stoke. The draw is at 10.30.a.m. on the day and includes the full range of events.

The North of England competition has been scheduled for Saturday 30 July at Blackpool. All athletes missing for the wedding of the year are expected to be attendance for this one!!!! The first race (10000m for men) is at 12 noon with the field events starting 30 minutes earlier - Women's Shot Putt and Men's Hammer.

Athletes who have particular events in mind should contact Phil Thomas as soon as possible.

Coaching Coaches:

We currently have two coaches signed up for level 3 courses, one for level 2 and another for level 1. The club will continue to support those coaches looking to move from level 1 to level 2 in particular.
