Ray Vose takes over as Chairman

Ray Vose took over as Chairman of the Club after Keiron Newcombe's decision to stand down at the conclusion of the final committee of the year  on Thursday 22 August. Vose already had five nominations for the post and was widely expected to be elected at the Annual General Meeting on 2nd September.

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the Club will take place at St Annes Social Club, Monastry Lane, on Monday 2 September at 7.30.p.m. It will be preceded by a Special General Meeting to approve the new constitution which has been circulated to all voting members of the club.  The new constitution simply brings the existing document up to date by incorporating those changes which have taken place in society through equal opportunities legislation and in athletics with the formation of UK Athletics. If you have not yet received your copy please contact Julia Hayes on 01744 608504.

The club is looking for maximum turnout and support at the final two Northern Track and Field League matches this coming weekend (3rd and 4th August). The men, who are certain of promotion, compete at Wavertree on Saturday (first event 12 noon) while the women, who are tied on first place with East Cheshire Harriers and Macclesfield are at The Oval, Bebington, on Sunday (first event 11 a.m.).

The club are looking for members to take officials’ courses in the winter ready for next season. Points are awarded for graded officials and we are in short supply of field event officials. Full details of the courses will be available. Meanwhile if you are interested please let Julia Hayes know as soon as possible.

Recent results: The club has excelled itself at senior and junior level. In the most recent matches in the National Young Athletes’ League the Boys’ team finished third at Deeside and the Girls’ second at Trafford. (see results page for full details). The club finished teams in the South Liverpool 5 where the ladies were third and the men’s veterans 11th.

The Club travelled to Connahs Quay for the Cheshire League match which had been postponed from June. The Girls won the match and the Boys were second. Full details are available on the Results page.
