In pursuit of its policy of contesting races as a team a trio of ladies travelled to Llandudno for the Nick Beer 10k. All of them were drenched but vowed to return in 2003 to improve of their excellent third place in the team event. Louise Casey (9), Cecilia Fitzsimons (12) and Chris Dempsey (28) scored 49 points just six short of third place. Ritchie Bradshaw also took part taking 11th place in the over 50 contest in 43.31. The race seemed to attract the rain while it was the first time team manager, Phil Thomas, had seen sheep on the main road. Well it is in Wales.

The club had seven members competing in the Northern Veterans monthly run. Cecilia Fitzsimons and Dorothy Fairhurst won their respective age groups, Janet holmes claimed second spot while Pauline Picton and Chris Dempsey were each third. Richie Bradshaw and John also competed
