Guidelines for

Funding of Coaching Qualifications

 

Application for coaching roles

Anyone wishing to act as a coach at St Helens Sutton AC must make a written application which will be considered by the Committee.  The application must state the reasons for wanting to coach.

Funding

The Club will fund / part fund any successful application on the following terms ;

That the applicant guarantees to provide a minimum of 30 hours coaching at regular Club training sessions in the two years following completion of Children in Athletics.
That the applicant guarantees to provide a minimum of 60 hours coaching at regular Club training sessions in the two years following qualification at Level 1.
That the applicant guarantees to provide a minimum of 100 hours coaching at regular Club training sessions in the three years following qualification at Level 2.
That the applicant guarantees to provide a minimum of 300 hours coaching at regular Club training sessions in the five years following qualification at Level 3 or above.

In the event the applicant breaches these guarantees they shall be liable for repayment of the outstanding proportion of the funding made by the Club and will be considered in debt to the Club until such payment is made.

Mentoring

All newly qualified L1 and L2 coaches will be mentored for the first 12 months after they have qualified. Such mentoring will include quarterly reporting to the Coaching Co-ordinator for assessment, observation and comment.
